WinterDreams – 1st International Academy WinterAcademy for New Music Performance
Workshops • Seminars • PerformanceConcerts
The first international academy WinterDreams focuses on new PerformanceMusic . The course is located at the ambience of Churfürstlichen of the lock Benrath in Düsseldorf. PerformanceMusic is a musical „flower“which arises from the 20th Century’s movements as Futurism, Dada and Fluxus. These movements place the individual human being in the centre with his/hers voice, perception and artistic skills in his/her individual "now".
The course offers public concerts, workshops and seminars and is aimed at anyone who is interested in PerformanceMusic, composition, and in particular in this winter academy’s possibilities of the voice. During the winter academy we will jointly develop an interdisciplinary PerformanceComposition under the title "The rose, the lily, the dove" which will be premièred on February 2 in the course of the final concert of the festival “beautiful weekend " in the Düsseldorf concert hall under the title „possibilities of the voice”.
Registration is required for the participation in workshops, seminars and for the development and execution of a performance composition.
Before registering, participants with compositional experience should submit a vocal piece for 4 voices (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) with a maximum duration of 3 minutes. The submitted pieces will be discussed, read and practiced during the WinterAcademy with members of the vocal ensemble "anima mundi". A selection of those pieces will also be performed during a Workshop-Concert in Schloss Benrath. The PerformanceConcerts will be open to the public and will invite the audience to participate creatively, while encouraging a debate with the participants and lecturers of the WinterAcademy, in context of the AprèsConcerts.
