USA Tour - Summer 2015

The Goethe Institut and the Federal Foreign Office Germany funded Kunsu Shim’s and Gerhard Staebler’s visits to Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Los Angeles.

In Chicago Staebler and Shim worked with the composers’ ensemble Articular Facet and the musicians’ collective a.pe.ri.od.ic, establishing relationsships for further projects in collaboration with the Ragdale Foundation.

The last week of the tour took the two composers to Los Angeles, where their concerts with the Southland Ensemble were very popular and well received by the audience.

South America Tour - Autumn 2015

Concerts, workshops and master classes took Gerhard Staebler and Kunsu Shim from October 17 until November 9 to Montevideo (Uruguay), Buenos Aires and Mar de Plata (Argentina). 

At the National University of Uruguay in Montevideo Staebler and Shim gave a week-long interdisciplinary master class for students of music and art and were featured composers of the monteaudio 15-entonación - festival internacional de arte sonoro.

On invitation by the University MUNTREF Arte y Ciencia in Buenos Aires the two composers gave three performance concerts in different venues and took part in the interdisciplinary research project „Aromatorio / The music of taste“ of Argentinian pianist and mathematician Bruno Mesz.

The tour was funded by the Ministry for Family, Children, Youth, Culture and Sport of Northrhine-Westfalia.
